DAY CURLING LEAGUE

 

This league is a “walk-in” format with teams selected at random.  Each player has the opportunity to play two ends at each position.  For fun and fellowship, this is recreational curling at its best.  Participation is open to both men and women and beginners are always welcomed.  Games take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with draws starting at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. 

 

 

 

MONDAY LADIES SCHEDULE

 

Members sign up individually, indicating the two positions that they would most like to play.  Ladies new to curling are invited to register.  Teams are selected randomly by the league convenor.  The season will consist of at least two draws with the league convenor deciding if there will be more than two draws to the season.  Ladies who have expressed an interest in curling competitively in a ladies league in the evening are encouraged to sign up in this league and to help the league grow.  This league will have their games start at 6:00 pm.

 

 

 

MONDAY MENS BENNETT SCHEDULE

 

Members sign up individually, indicating the two positions that they would most like to play.  Men new to curling are invited to register.  Teams are selected randomly by the league convenor.  The season will consist of at least two draws with the league convenor deciding if there will be more than two draws to the season.  The opportunity exists where the team champion from the Monday Night Schedule would playoff against the team champion from the Wednesday Night Schedule for bragging rights!  This league will have their games start at 8:00 pm.

 

 

 

TUESDAY CIBC OPEN COMPETITIVE LEAGUE

 

The most competitive league at the Woodstock Curling Club.  Members sign up as a team and remain as a team for the duration of the season but please note that individual registrations are welcomed – the league convenor will assign you to a team.  Teams may consist of any combination of gender.  The league will follow a ladder system.  Game times alternate between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm throughout the season.

 

 

WEDNESDAY CO-ED LEAGUE

Do you enjoy the opportunity to compete in a co-ed environment?  Then this league, open to curlers of varying ages and abilities, is for you.  Members sign up individually and indicate their preference of playing position.  The league convenor draws up the teams with new teams being formed at least twice during the season.  Game times are at 7:00 pm throughout the season.  A minimum of ten teams are guaranteed.

 

 

THURSDAY LADIES COMPETITIVE LEAGUE

Members sign up as a team and remain together as a team for the season but please note that individual registrations are welcomed – the league convenor will assign you to a team.  Game times start at 5:15 pm; teams must be off the ice by 7:05 pm promptly.

 

 

THURSDAY MENS COMPETITIVE LEAGUE

Members sign up as a team and remain together as a team for the season but please note that individual registrations are welcomed – the league convenor will assign you to a team.  Game times start at 7:15 pm promptly with the first draw off the ice by 9:05 pm.  Game times alternate between 7:15 pm and 9:15 pm throughout the season.

 

 

GUARANTEE COMPANY FRIDAY NIGHT MIXED LEAGUE

This mixed league has quickly become one of the most popular leagues in the club, with each team composed of two men and two women.  Enjoy 6 ends of curling with draw times scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on a rotating basis. Sign up as a team, a couple, or an individual.  There is always plenty of room in our friendly relaxed atmosphere on Friday nights.  Reasonably priced meals are available every Friday with each team taking a turn at cooking.  Meals are open to everyone in the Club.

 

 

LITTLE ROCKS and BANTAM LEAGUE

This is a special league designed to introduce children, from ages 7 and up, to one of the fastest growing sports in Canada.  Regardless of gender, skill, or physical prowess, curling offers every child an opportunity to participate as an equal member of a team.  Little Rocks, which take to the ice on Sundays at 1 pm, must wear a bicycle helmet.  Bantams (maximum age 16 prior to Dec. 31, 2009) learn the more technical aspects of the game in a fun, social setting.  Bantams curl on Sundays from 2-4 pm.
